Career Coaches or Employment Specialists provide short-term directive support related to career managment and job search skills, including application, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
What is the Difference between a Counselor and a Coach
The difference lies is in the certifications and training the professional has received. Be sure to ask questions to assure you understand and agree to the services you are requesting. Counselors abide by the laws and ethics as instructed by the NBCC and NCDA, while Coaches are not held to the same standards and requirements. This is most critical with regards to issues of Confidentiality and nature of treatment. Counselors are trained to provide Coaching, while Coaches are not trained to provide Counseling.
