About Living Careers Career Counselor/Coach
Danielle Gruen, MS, NCC, DCC

Danielle's motto is “find passion in the work you do or find work you are passionate about", and she uses this as a daily guide in her work. Danielle began her career in counseling while obtaining her undergraduate degree at UCSC, studying under Elliot Aronson, PhD. She began her professional work in social services, including a transitional housing program and later an employment agency.

Each opportunity lead her on her own career journey as she discovered her own passion. She returned to school, earned her Masters degree in Career Counseling from SFSU, with mentors Robert Chope, PhD and Rebecca Toporek, PhD. Then earned her certifications as a Distance Credentialed Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Danielle Gruen is a Career Counselor, a Career and Life Coach, and a Career Consultant. The services she provides are tailored to fit the individual and decided together during the consultation session. In general, Danielle encourages the spirituality of each individual be brought into the work, and finds that it nicely compliments the goal-setting, career theory tools, and cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT) techniques she incorporates.

Danielle sought a desire for something more out of her work, thus leading to her involvement in Living Careers. She has served as an inspiration to countless clients and colleagues as a leader, a team-player, and a motivator to facilitate change, inspire new developments, and engage in growth. Her innovative ideas, creative mind, and knowledge of untapped markets, combined with her empathy to human experience speak to the very essence of Living Careers' Counselors and Coach.
